Annual Report  2005

As president of the congregation, I would like to say thank you to everyone who was always there to help our congregation throughout the year.

The first six months of the year were a little difficult but then we got a gift from an elderly member of our congregation who remembered Prince of Peace in her estate. Dorothy Lauridsen might be a name that many of you aren't familiar with as she moved to Florida about 30 years ago. Still, there are many of us who, indeed, do remember her and now are very grateful for her concern for her church home and family. Her gift made it possible to bring all of our bills up to date and do a number of projects that to that point hadn't been financially possible. The eaves of the parsonage were finally repaired, new floors were put in the church building bathrooms, ancient appliances at the parsonage  some of which were no longer functional  were replaced, tables and chairs were replaced, as well as coffee pots we use for our dinners and flea markets (as well as "goody" time). In order to continue meeting the needs of the congregation, I call upon our members to be as generous as possible in giving both of their financial resources and their time. I would live to say thank you to Stephanie Wagar for all her help and time as treasurer; to Joyce Pascale for all her time as financial secretary; to Marvin Zepf and Bill Clarkson thank you for your time and help. Along the way we added Darlene Gordon to our happy little group as the new financial secretary. Thank you to all the rest of the council for all the work they did on various committees and functions.

As always, our dinners were a great success, especially the Italian Fest. Thank you to all who brought food, worked in the kitchen, set up and who took down and cleaned, cooked, parked cars and cleaned some more at our flea markets.

Everything is fun and work, but we should remember we do this for the love of our Lord, our Church and our congregation, not for what we think we are going to gain from doing it.

Respectfully submitted,

Arlene Hunziker
