Tour de Synod The LYO is embarking on a very challenging mission otherwise known as the "Tour de Synod." This is a synod-wide bike-a-thon across the state to raise money for two mission congregations, Nile Sudanese Mission in Rochester, and Salaam Arabic in Brooklyn. It will take place on May 20th, 2006. In your congregation, if there are any experienced bikers (able to bike about 25 miles), please send us names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of those bikers. The money they raise will be collected by May 14th and sent to the congregations so that it can assist in their ministries. Checks should be made out to the Upstate New York Synod - marked Tour de Synod and sent to 890 E. Brighton Ave., Syracuse, NY 13205.Also, if you have in your congregation, someone who enjoys either photography or video recording, please send us their contact information. If your congregation wishes to participate, but can't on May 20th, there are still many opportunities for your congregation to get involved. For example, if your congregation wishes, you can organize a local bike route that your congregation will ride. You can send that information to us at tourdesynod@hotmail.com.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact us at any time through the above email address and we will help you as soon as we can. Please help us minister to disciples of all nations by spreading the word about Tour De Synod throughout your congregation! We would really appreciate your help and involvement with this event!
